Lars Norén – Writer
Lars Norén – playwright, poet and novelist – is thought by many to be the greatest living Swedish writer. For many years Artistic Director of the Riksteatern, the National Touring Theatre of Sweden, his work is hugely influential, interrogating the human psyche in a style that veers between realism and fantasy, with devastating results. An heir to August Strindberg, this is the literary tradition behind the much-acclaimed Nordic-noir drama. “Considered the most important playwright since August Strindberg in his native Sweden.” New York Times

 

Anthony Neilson – Director
Anthony Neilson is one of the most extraordinary – and controversial – dramatists working today. His previous work, including The Prudes, Narrative, Unreachable and Relocated at the Royal Court Theatre, The Wonderful World of Dissocia and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Royal Lyceum Edinburgh and Realism at the Edinburgh International Festival.

 

Nigel Edwards – Lighting Designer
In Britain, Nigel is best known as the lighting designer for Forced Entertainment designing 27 of their shows since 1990. Other shows of interest include Lanark for The Citizens, the premieres of Sarah Kane’s Cleansed and 4:48 Psychosis at The Royal Court, and Crave; Roberto Zucco for Paines Plough; The Mysteries, Victoria, The Tempest and Troilus and Cressida (with the Wooster Group) for the RSC; Opening Skinners Box by Improbable;  Hands Off, Story of Us and Last Straw by the People Show. Dance includes 50 Acts, Dance Dance Dance, Desert Island Dances, Wendy Houstoun; Pigg in Hell, Total Masala Slammer, The HCA project, Solo and Fassbinder, Faust and The Animists for Remote Control. West End Shows include Sexual Perversity in Chicago, When Harry Met Sally and The Postman Always Rings Twice. Operas include Jenufa, WNO; The Maids, ENO; Hansel and Gretel, Opera North. Concerts: Nigel has designed and toured with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Carsten Nicolai, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Jeff Beck Diamanda Galas and Nightmares on Wax.

 

Laura Hopkins – Set and Costume Designer
Laura has worked on numerous experimental and devised productions, at the ICA, the Barbican, Tate Britain and many non-theatre spaces. She has also designed productions for the Globe, RSC; Royal Exchange, Royal Court NTS and the NT. She is an associate artist with Imitating the Dog and Duckie, and collaborates regularly with artist and writer Tom McCarthy.
