Choreographer – Hubert Essakow
Hubert is a freelance choreographer based in London . Originally from South Africa he had career as a dancer with amongst others
The Royal Ballet and Rambert Dance Company before starting to make his own work . He has had commissions from Transitions Dance Company , English National Ballet and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland .
He has a close relationship with the Print Room, as an Associate Artist, where he made the critically acclaimed shows Flow 2012 and Ignis 2013 . He will be creating Tenebre for Ballet Am Rhein in May 2016
Designers – Sophie Lachaert and Luc d’Hanis
Sophie Lachaert and Luc d’Hanis are Belgian visual artists, whose boundary-crossing work includes applied and visual arts, design and craft. This is their first theatre design project.
Original score by Jean Michel-Bernard
Terra‘s original score is created by Jean Michel-Bernard, a French film composer who has scored for directors including Martin Scorsese and Michel Gondry.
Sound design by Gareth Mitchell
Gareth Mitchell, singer, guitarist, composer and sound designer, designs the sound for Terra. Gareth works in a number of different environments. He releases work for Revolution Harmony and Setola Di Maiale, and designed sound for Hubert’s segment of 1898.
Lighting design by David Plater
David Plater designs lighting, and his extensive design credits includes work for the West End, the Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Donmar and the Royal Court. He also designed lighting for the Print Room’s recent production of The Cocktail Party.

Costume Designer – Martina Trottmann
Martina Trottmann is a London based Swiss costume designer, couturier and textile artist. Her eclectic collection of projects reach over a decade and range from theatre and immersive theatrical events to opera, dance, film and TV as well as textile work and related education.
Martina studied haute-couture and dressmaking for stage in Zurich/Switzerland. After working in the field she moved to the UK in 2004 to study costume design at Wimbledon College of Art. She is recurrently working as joint head of costume for Secret Cinema and designer in residence for dance companies Intoto and Stop-Gap.

Rob Bridger trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. At Rambert he had the opportunity to work with Christopher Bruce CBE, Mark Baldwin OBE and Dr Ross Mckim (Moving Visions). He was a selected choreographer for Young Creatives, YDE where his work Task 1 was premiered at The Linbury Theatre, Covent Garden and he is currently part of the Young Choreographers South West programme with Pavilion Dance. Robert danced at the 19th International Solo Dance Theatre Festival in Stuttgart, Germany; the solo Cleft choreographed by Simone Wurtz and most recently was touring internationally and nationally with Inala.
Monique Jonas trained at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance and Arts Educational Schools London. Her recent credits include Eclipse (Phoenix Dance Theatre), Sacred Mountain choreographed by Dane Hurst, Rosetta Rose (Royal Opera House) and Moving Visions Company 2015 (Sadler’s Wells, Royal Opera House, Anya Linden Theatre London).
Benjamin Warbis completed his training at the London Studio Centre, with a First Class BA Honours Degree in Theatre Dance. Spending almost six full years with Michael Clark Company, Ben has performed internationally with ‘come, been, and gone’ since its creation, as well as in ‘th’ at Tate Modern and ‘WHO’S ZOO?’ at the Whitney Museum of American Art. His film credits include Joe Wright’s ‘Anna Karenina’ (2012) choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and Marc Forster’s ‘World War Zombie’ (2013). He choreographed and walked for Thom Murphy’s New Power Studio clothing label at London Fashion Week in September 2010, which led to representation by Premier Model Management.He was a cover star for Arena Homme+ in 2010; shot by Nick Knight and directed by Nicola Formichetti. Since December 2014, he’s been performing both in the UK and Los Angeles as a member of Yorke Dance Project, under the directorship of Yolande Yorke-Edgell and Robert Cohan.
Born in Barcelona, Estela Merlos trained at Escola de Dansa Madó and London’s Central School of Ballet. Before graduation in 2004 she obtained the Solo Seal Award, toured with Ballet Central and performed with Northern Ballet Theatre and DV8. After working with Cannes Jeune Ballet (France) and IT Dansa (Barcelona), she joined Rambert Dance Company, where she toured nationally and internationally from 2008 to 2014.
During these years Estela has created roles and performed works by Jiri Kilyan, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Christopher Bruce, Carolyn Carlson, Merce Cunningham, Itzik Galili, Rafael Bonachela, Alexander Ekman among other acclaimed choreographers.
Since becoming freelance artist in 2014 she has worked with Didy Veldman, Shobana Jeyasingh, Renaud Wiser Dance Company, New Movement Collective, AVA Dance Company, Patricia Okenwa, Goddard Nixon, Malgorzata Dzierzon and N’da Dance Company.
As a choreographer she has presented her own work in Spain and the UK, including creations for Rambert’s New Evening of Choreography, The Place Resolution! 2015, and most recently for British Spanish Society Gala and Valencia Dancing Forward Fundraising Gala.
Estela was nominated outstanding dancer of the year by Dance Europe Magazine in 2010.

Luke Crook. Born in Derby, Luke grew up in Eastbourne where he began dancing at the age of 14. He performed with Southern Youth Ballet prior to attending London Contemporary Dance School, where he graduated with a first class degree. Luke has had the opportunity to perform works by Richard Alston, Didy Veldman, Crystal Pite, Kerry Nicholls in a variety of venues. Since graduating Luke has been working in both commercial and contemporary settings, dancing in music videos, galleries and fashion promotion. Luke has recently performed with N’da Dance Company and À la carte.
