“It’s a comedy. The subject is not funny. We shouldn’t laugh. But we do” – Rémi De Vos

Trois Ruptures / Three Splits is a new dark comedy by award-winning French writer Rémi De Vos. Presented in French with English surtitles.

Why settle for an amicable break up when revenge, drama and surprise show how very much we care? Three couples, three splits, three stories. Rémi De Vos’s fierce analysis of the human condition, through an absurdist prism, reveals our compelling attraction toward disaster.

The play premiered to sell-out audiences last January at the Chelsea Theatre then in Beijing, China. Trois Ruptures/Three Splits was selected among 150 new plays by the Cross Channel Theatre Group (The Best of French New Writing) and produced by the Institut Francais.

Director Marianne Badrichani, artist in residence at the French Institute, has been adapting and directing French plays in London since 2000.

Surtitles and translation by Chris Campbell, recently awarded Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government.
