Journey Eastward through a series of Sunday evening concerts in Composer Portraits. The Octandre Ensemble present three composers who will introduce their work in pre-concert interviews on Sunday nights throughout the Spring. Listen to some extraordinary talent – and join the musicians for a drink in the bar afterwards.

In Screens performers are concealed behind extraordinary dressing screens with soprano Juliet Fraser at the helm while After the Rain, inspired by the breath-taking regeneration after an extended Kenyan drought, provides another work of unique beauty.

Two Voices and Axe (2010) – for female voice, male voice, violin, viola, flute, double bass, 2 percussion – 13’

Quick, Quick the Tamberan is Coming (1973) – for 4 bass flutes – 8’
Screens (2017) – for violin, viola, female voice, 2 percussion [also requires 4 dressing screens and lighting] – 25’
